This service is intended for last-minute, time-sensitive certification for the hands-on skills component of the American Heart Association (AHA) HeartCode® BLS course. This option is also appropriate for individuals or pairs who prefer a private, one-on-one session with an instructor for reasons such as test anxiety, chronic medical conditions, or other personal considerations.
Common requests for emergent sessions include providers with extenuating circumstances who are at risk of certification or licensure lapse, job or contract termination, removal from work schedules, or loss of contingent college program acceptance if certification is not obtained within a short timeframe (typically within 48 hours).
You are responsible for selecting, purchasing, and completing the correct certifying organization and course based on your employer’s or institution’s requirements. Please verify all requirements prior to booking your session and completing course content.
Additional costs may be incurred for sessions requested under the following conditions:

Private sessions conducted outside of a MedUltra CPR brick-and-mortar location (e.g., workplace, residence, etc.)*

*Private session locations must meet criteria established by the American Heart Association for professional training sites.

HeartCode BLS
The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
The HeartCode format is a blended learning delivery method, which consists of students completing an online course prior to an in-person skills test. You must complete the HeartCode BLS online prior to your testing session (purchased separately for $37). Bring a hard-copy of the Completion Certificate with you to your skills session. Who should take this course?
The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings. This class covers the Basic Life Support Initial and Renewal certification.

Is there a required textbook for this course?
Yes, the AHA requires that all students have a student manual for the course, however, the BLS Provider Manual eBook is included in the purchase of the HeartCode BLS Online Course.
