Who should take this course?

What is included in this course?

The BLS Providers course teaches CPR hands on skills for helping victims of all ages (adult/child/infant), including providing ventilation (mouth to mouth) with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (chocking). Intended for licensed and non-licensed healthcare professionals and more.

The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

The HeartCode format is a blended learning delivery method, which consists of students completing an online course prior to an in-person skills test. You must complete the HeartCode BLS online prior to your testing session (purchased separately for $37).  Bring a hard-copy of the Completion Certificate with you to your skills session. Is there a required textbook for this course?

Yes, the AHA requires that all students have a student manual for the course, however, the BLS Provider Manual eBook is included in the purchase of the HeartCode BLS Online Course.

The American Heart Association’s ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of preventing cardiac arrest, early and continuous high-quality CPR, and high-performing teams. The course reflects science and education from the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

The Flipped format is most similar to a "flipped-classroom approach" where the didactic portion is completed online before class and the in-person session is more focused on the instruction of skills, scenarios, & testing. This course requires a 2025 student manual, completion of the mandatory precourse self-assessment, AND completion of the mandatory precourse work (videos) BEFORE class.

AHA-compliant Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is for providers who participate in the management of critical pediatric patients. This classroom-based course uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics.

Audience: Healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children, including personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units.

Prerequisites: Valid BLS and ACLS Provider cards

2025 Guidelines – Blended Learning with HeartCode BLS Included

The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course, updated to reflect the 2025 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC, teaches participants how to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies involving adults, children, and infants.

This blended learning course combines the official AHA HeartCode BLS online course with a personalized, instructor-led hands-on skills session conducted by CPR By Jeremy at your home, workplace, school, or facility.

During the course, participants will practice:

• High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
• Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
• Effective ventilations using barrier and bag-mask devices
