The American Heart Association’s PALS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of preventing cardiac arrest, early and continuous high-quality CPR, and high-performing teams. The course reflects science and education from the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

The Flipped format is most similar to a "flipped-classroom approach" where the didactic portion is completed online before class and the in-person session is more focused on the instruction of skills, scenarios, & testing. This course requires a 2025 student manual, completion of the mandatory precourse self-assessment, AND completion of the mandatory precourse work (videos) BEFORE class. 

Intended Audience

Is there a required textbook for this course?

The AHA requires that all students have a student manual for the course, therefore, students must bring a 2025 PALS Student Manual, hard-copy or eBook (purchased seperately.) Without the book, the student will not be permitted to participate in the course.

The HeartCode format is a blended learning delivery method, which consists of students completing an online course prior to an in-person skills test. You must complete the HeartCode PALS online portion (purchased separately for $173) prior to your testing session, as the certificate of completion is due at check-in. This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to quickly assess recognize and care for cardiac arrest provide high-quality CPR and use an AED to optimize patient outcomes. Designed for both in-hospital and out-of-hospital healthcare clinicians this training is consistent with the 2025 evidence-based science guidelines and covers additional life-threatening emergencies including respiratory arrest drowning opioid overdose myocardial infarction life-threatening bleeding and obstructed airway in adults children and infants. The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course, updated to reflect the 2025 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC, teaches participants how to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies involving adults, children, and infants.

This blended learning course combines the official AHA HeartCode BLS online course with a personalized, instructor-led hands-on skills session conducted by CPR By Jeremy at your home, workplace, school, or facility.

During the course, participants will practice:

The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. 

For healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.

This course lasts approximately eight (8) hours.  This class is a one-day course.  

All students who successfully complete all requirements will receive their official American Heart Association PALS Provider via email using the AHA eCard system!  Your course completion card will be valid for a period of two (2) years from the date of your class.
