2025 Guidelines – Blended Learning with HeartCode BLS Included

The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course, updated to reflect the 2025 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC, teaches participants how to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies involving adults, children, and infants.

This blended learning course combines the official AHA HeartCode BLS online course with a personalized, instructor-led hands-on skills session conducted by CPR By Jeremy at your home, workplace, school, or facility.

During the course, participants will practice:

The Health & Safety Institute (HSI) Basic Life Support (BLS) Blended Learning course combines convenient, self-paced online learning with an in-person, instructor-led skills session.

Participants complete the HSI online portion before meeting with a CPR By Jeremy instructor for hands-on practice and skills evaluation at their home, workplace, school, or facility.

During the course, participants learn and demonstrate:

Thank you for choosing LEARN CPR for your CPR, AED and First Aid certification. This is our most comprehensive and convenient class for All Ages CPR, AED and First Aid.  After successful completion you will earn a certified pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid card. This class is formatted as a blended-learning course.  Which means, half of the class (the lecture portion) is done online.  The other half (the Skills Session) is done in-person with us.  The online module must be completed prior to the in-person portion/Skills Session of the class. 

This class focuses on Adult, Children, and Infants.  

During this class, you will learn how to  check for responsiveness on All Ages and how to act if they are unresponsive or not acting appropriately.  

We will cover how to perform an assessment, check for breathing and delegate necessary resources. 

Once CPR has been determined, we will extensively cover how, where and for how long to continue CPR.  In addition, combining CPR with breath and working as a partner/team or alone. 

AEDs are for Children and Infants too and INCREDIBLY important to know how to use.  We will show you our real AED located in our office (we're prepared too!) and you will have multiple opportunities to use our AED trainers during simulated scenarios.  

To complete the CPR portion of the course,  we will discuss choking, how to respond and act, required resources and supplemental devices. 

The second half of the class is First Aid.  We will use the tools to stop life threatening bleeding, save a life during an anaphylactic emergency and perform a patient assessment. This is a crowd favorite because we provide the tools to practice your new skills.  This includes tourniquets, epi pens and bandaging materials.

All of this combined will make you feel more confident, more comfortable and more competent to act during an emergency.  

We hope that you never need to use these skills, but if you do, we ensure that you will feel ready to do so.

This is an Online and In person course. The participant will need to complete the American RedCross online course and come to class for the hands on training.  This course allows individuals to become an American Red Cross Instructor. This course includes different packages  that will allow one to get a jump start in teaching CPR.

The AHA’s ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of preventing cardiac arrest, early and continuous high-quality CPR, and high-performing teams. Medic First is CA Emergency Medical Services Authority Approved Program

The epinephrine certification card issued by the EMSA allows an individual (lay-person or off-duty EMS personnel,) to obtain a prescription for and administer an epinephrine auto-injector to a person experiencing anaphylaxis, with civil liability protection. State law allows physicians to prescribe epinephrine auto-injectors to businesses and the general public after completion of proper training and certification.

Certification authorizes the general public, or Lay Rescuer, and off-duty EMS personnel to administer auto- injector epinephrine within California.

Certification does not replace any training or policy/protocols required by the local EMS Agencies (LEMSA) related to the use of auto-injectors within their jurisdictions for EMS Personnel who are on duty.

Upon course completion, students receive a Medic First Epinephrine Autoinjector training program document signed by the class instructor and are eligible to apply for CA EMSA Epinephrine Auto Injector Certification.

This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to quickly assess recognize and care for cardiac arrest provide high-quality CPR and use an AED to optimize patient outcomes. Steps for the class

• You must have a current AHA BLS provider certification issued by the AHA, which has the AHA logo at the time of your class. No other programs are accepted (For example, the Red Cross or another certificate that mentions "meets AHA guidelines" or "equivalent to AHA"). If you do not have a current AHA BLS certification issued from the AHA, you can add the certification and complete it before the instructor's course. We will arrange to complete your certification prior to the day of your class.

• Complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Online Course. The registration confirmation email will include a link to your online course.

• Attend the in-person instructor's course.

The AHA’s BLS renewal course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.
